In order to advance the rebuilding, a community event is running in Destiny 2 . One Guardian takes it a bit too far, but exposes a problem.
This is what the community event is about: A community event is currently taking place in Destiny 2. As part of Empyrean Foundation, players are working together on the future of the loot shooter.
Due to the tremendous willingness to donate, the rebuilding measures have already reached the second-to-last stage. The required resources have doubled compared to the previous stage.
The community now has to raise a proud 6 billion Fractaline. How much the final stage 7 will cost is anyone’s guess. But one player gives everyone hope.
Guardian generates incredible amount of Fractaline
Actually, Empyrean Foundation is a feat of the entire Destiny player base. However, considering the achievements of Guardian 3jlowes, one might assume that she wants to carry the event all by herself.
This is how much a Guardian has collected: On Twitter, she shared that she can finally go to bed. Because she has reached a Resonance Rank of 709900. This was made possible by a combination of investment and resource exchange with Spider.
According to the Resonance Rank, she automatically receives 709900 Fractaline weekly. The sheer unimaginable amount quickly brought the inventory to its capacity limits, and even the Postmaster was not prepared for so much Fractaline.
The Fractaline obsession soon caught the attention of Bungie employees. Community Manager dmg04 titled: “The cap has been discovered”. With this, he alerted the Destiny players to 3jlowes.

What does the community say about it? The “Fractaline addiction” drew many reactions. The comments can roughly be categorized into three areas:
- Gratitude and recognition – Many players express positive sentiments and are impressed by the dedication. One wrote M A M B A # 2 4: “People like you make community goals possible. Thank you for your efforts, Guardian!”
- The question of why – Some commentators cannot understand this dedication. They wonder, what’s the point of all this? One of the answers is: For the Trials!
- Have fun donating – Users are noting that all that Fractaline also has to be donated and wish her “good luck” with that.
The last point also reveals a problem of the Empyrean Foundation.
There are problems with donations: Currently, you can only donate 100 Fractaline at a time at the Tower Obelisk. A donation also takes about 3 seconds. Many players find that too slow.
One Guardian calculated that the eager collector would spend about 6 hours just on the donation process.
Bungie comments on the future: In response to the criticism of the donation process, dmg04, on behalf of Bungie (via Twitter), stated that no faster solution can be offered in the current event.
In the future, however, they will work on improvements for similarly designed community challenges. He presented potential solutions:
- The time needed for each donation could be reduced
- Another possibility would be to allow larger or variable donation amounts.
