Fortnite has shown players many crazy ways to absurdly or remarkably eliminate their opponents. However, this time Epic Games has introduced a new method that tops everything else. One player demonstrates it.
What kind of death are we talking about? It’s about things that can crush, squash, roll over, or stomp you in nature. Players in Fortnite have known the method of swinging large logs to hit enemies over the head or rolling over them on the water.
All of this was possible thanks to the switch to Unreal Engine 5, because now Epic can create even more realistic effects.
Now, however, players have discovered that not only trees but also huge rocks can become your downfall.
Nature can also be dangerous!
How dangerous are rocks? The Fortnite player “Hugh-Jay-Ness” shared a clip on reddit, in which he is happily wandering through the new Season 3 map in the desert. However, during his wanderings, he accidentally killed a player, and that was only through a plain ordinary rock.
Like every player, Hugh was also gathering materials from his surroundings while wandering. Suddenly, he found himself in front of a rock that was held in place by a stone frame. The player destroyed this frame, but did not reckon that the boulder would then come loose and fall into the abyss.
Hugh then continued on the dusty mountain until he suddenly received a kill notification. Puzzled about this, he ran back and saw that the seemingly harmless rock had crushed and killed his opponent in the lower level. Only the remains of the opponent were visible.
Which rocks are now dangerous? For now, two types of rocks are known that can be dropped on your opponents.
- The red desert rocks on the mountains
- Gray round rocks in the grasslands
However, you must keep in mind that not every large rock can be dropped on your opponents. These specific boulders are set in a stone frame made by Epic Games. You will see and notice when breaking the small health bar how the stone comes loose and rolls away.
Can I avoid rocks? Fortnite has a battlefield full of dangers, so you must also move through the world with your eyes open. Neither walls nor other structural measures help you to stop the rolling stones. You either dodge the stones or get flattened.
