Blizzard has already revealed some rewards for the upcoming Season 11 in Diablo 4. Included is a weapon that has never been seen in the game before. Fans clearly see it as a sign for exactly the class that everyone has been waiting for since the release.
This is what players have found:
- On December 12th, Season 11 starts in Diablo 4, at 5:00 AM German time, right after the Game Awards, which are held that night.
- A new Battle Pass will be introduced alongside the season, where you can earn cosmetic rewards.
- One of these rewards is a flail: a large ball on a chain with a handle. This weapon has not been available in Diablo 4 before and traditionally belongs to a class that is not playable in Diablo 4.
This is what fans hope for now: The use of flails is actually known for Paladins, particularly the Order of the Crusaders (seen in the cover image), which appear as playable classes in Diablo 3 and Diablo Immortal.
Fans now see this weapon as proof that the Paladin is coming as the next class. Since release, the community has wished for Paladins as a new class and there have been various hints surfacing lately that give players hope.
The speculation goes even further: the Paladin is expected not just to be the next class, but to appear directly on Friday. Without announcement, but as a surprise – a “Shadow Drop.”
“Otherwise, no reason to postpone the season”
On Reddit, players are already discussing the theories actively in numerous threads with hundreds of comments. It only makes sense that the season was postponed and set right after the Game Awards if there was something that hasn’t been announced yet – like the Paladin.
Apart from the weapon, the season itself also supports that idea. In Season 11, it’s about divine powers and the name or theme alone is already a hint: “Divine Intervention.” So far, there is no class in Diablo 4 associated with divine powers.
However, some users suspect that the class won’t just appear, but will rather be part of a pre-order:

Other users simply dismiss all this as rumors. The postponement happened because they want to consider Chinese players. 5 AM German time corresponds to 12 PM noon in China.
Moreover, it is highly unlikely that a new class would appear outside of an expansion and simply with a new season. In many threads, users even warn against too much hype. Blizzard has promised nothing, and one should not get too excited. Others are already outraged in advance that nothing will happen.
Whether and when the Paladin will appear, or what will happen with a new expansion, we will likely find out at the earliest on Friday.
