Players who grind enough in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and CoD Warzone will be rewarded with the rare Damascus camo – in theory. A bug currently seems to prevent this, as some players report. It seems to be related to issues with Season 5.
What kind of camo is this? The Damascus camo is the rarest skin in the game. It can only be obtained after you’ve unlocked almost all other skins. Specifically, this means:
- you need to unlock the Gold camos – for this, you need all other camos for the respective weapon
- and you also need the Platinum camo, for which you need Gold in each weapon class, meaning all camos for every shotgun, every assault rifle, and so on.
However, this only applies to weapons that cannot be unlocked through the Battle Pass, and the new Obsidian master skins are also not part of the challenge.
Nevertheless, you need all skins of most weapons for the Damascus camo, which means hundreds of hours and dozens of challenges that you need to invest in and complete. The current problem is: Apparently, the skin doesn’t exist at all.
No Damascus camo despite grinding – Here’s why
What players report: As Reddit user ebai69 shows in a short clip, he has collected all other skins he needs for the Damascus camo. However, he hasn’t been able to unlock it.
He even shows all weapon classes in his video and that he has already unlocked Platinum for them. He should be getting the Damascus camo:
Reports about this bug have been circulating more frequently since the launch of Season 5 for Modern Warfare and Warzone. Players are complaining that their many hours of grinding are not rewarded.
Some suspect that there’s a problem with the two new weapons AN-94 and ISO. Although these count as DLC weapons and technically shouldn’t affect progress for the Damascus camo, players suspect they might be causing the bug.
How can this be circumvented? User Siriusly22 writes that the challenges may not have been tracked properly. It may be possible that while the Gold and Platinum skins are already unlocked, the challenges have not yet been completed. He suggests the following tips:
- Check the progress of all weapons for Gold and Platinum skins
- Pay attention to whether you have a progress indicator for the Obsidian skin on any of the skins. This may indicate that a challenge has not been counted correctly
- Look for the corresponding challenge that is not yet complete and finish it
Currently, there are indeed some problems with skins and camouflage. A quirky bug turns the firearms into “demon weapons”, blocking your view completely. Temporarily disabling skins may help. The developers are already working on a solution for this.
