In Pokémon GO, it is possible to submit your own PokéStops. A player would like to use this feature for her friend – in Antarctica.
Playing Pokémon GO in Antarctica? Pokémon GO is played worldwide. Whether in big cities, in the countryside – or even in Antarctica. However, this is more difficult than in other corners of the world.
A player reports on Reddit that her friend has recently been at an Australian base in Antarctica. He also wants to continue playing Pokémon GO here. The problem? There are no PokéStops in sight. And thus no field research – or items.
Can’t the player just submit a stop? She then contacted Reddit to find out how she can help him. Since her friend’s account is not high enough in level to submit a PokéStop by himself, she wanted to give him her account to submit a stop.
Since this violates Niantic’s terms of service, the community advises her against it. And generously offers alternative support.
Community offers any help it can
How does the community want to help the player? The community offers the player to share her friend’s friend code to send him gifts. This way, the player could at least get much-needed items like Poké Balls, potions, and revives, without which playing is simply impossible.
The community doesn’t care that the gifts might not be reciprocated by the player. The experience points gained from rising friendship levels would also be received by the community members, but no items.
Are there no other players in Antarctica? The community also links to posts from players who also play in Antarctica. This way, a player with a higher level might help submit a PokéStop. With the right tips for submitting PokéStops, this could be an idea.
The problem here: the linked posts all come from players who are located at the other end of Antarctica. Therefore, this idea is unfortunately not feasible.
Are there Pokémon in Antarctica?
Are there Pokémon in Antarctica? The question of whether there are spawns in this region of the world is also answered by the player. Yes, there are Pokémon that appear in Antarctica. Just unfortunately no PokéStop. Speaking of Pokémon spawns: do you already know which Pokémon from the new season are particularly worthwhile?
What do you think of the helpfulness the community is showing here? And do you think Niantic should provide support here? Write it in the comments.
