A player wanted to complete Fallout 4 without taking a single hit – after over 2,000 hours, he succeeded.
The 2015 released Fallout 4 is very popular among RPG fans. Some players regularly return to the post-apocalyptic world, even if they completed the game years ago.
Other players enhance the Fallout 4 experience with mods or impose special challenges on themselves to experience a unique thrill on a new playthrough.
One of these players is a Twitch streamer named ‘Vrexia’, who wanted to complete Bethesda’s RPG without taking a single hit – but there were some additional factors that made the challenge even harder.
No-Hit-Run, but even a falling microscope is deadly
What exactly was the challenge? Vrexia wanted to complete Fallout 4 without ever being hit, but that was too easy for him. According to PC Gamer, he therefore used a mod that made even the smallest damage a lethal hit.
He reportedly died in one run because a microscope fell off the table and hit him. Since it’s also a permadeath run, he had to start over from scratch due to the microscope. The same went for bugs that launched him into the air or a scorpion that had spawned in the air and fell on him.
To make things even more challenging, Vrexia aimed to complete the game to 100% – meaning finishing the story and all side quests including the DLCs, collecting all collectibles, and unlocking all settlements.
Additionally, the prohibition of numerous items increased the difficulty, including examples like VATS, armor, legendary items, as well as perks that avoid damage.
How long did it take him to complete the challenge? Overall, Vrexia is said to have taken about 2,000 hours to finish the special run. This cost him, in addition to 2 years and 7 months, a total of 415 attempts before he finally succeeded.
By the way, Vrexia is not the only one attempting special challenges in games. A streamer named Dinossindgeil has played FromSoftware’s titles Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls 1, 2 and 3, Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring in one go without being hit once.
