Do you sometimes feel like you’re unlucky with the coin toss in Pokémon TCG Pocket? One player has recorded how often he actually got lucky with Misty during the coin toss.
What does Misty bring? Misty’s Trainer card is mainly designed for use with Water Pokémon. The player chooses one of their Pokémon and keeps tossing a coin until it lands on heads. The number of heads determines how many Energy cards can be attached to that Pokémon.
This way, players can get Energy early in the game, allowing their Water Pokémon to quickly use their strongest attacks that require a lot of Energy. Good combinations include Misty with Articuno-ex, Lapras, or Gyarados.
However, it should be random whether heads or tails comes up in the coin toss. It can happen that the coin shows tails on the very first toss, rendering the card ineffective. One player has tested how well Misty works for him.

Player tracks statistics on how well Misty works for him
What does his statistic show? The player started using Misty for his deck. Out of curiosity, he began recording how the results looked for Misty’s coin tosses.
He shares his bad luck in the Reddit forum and shows that he got heads only four times out of 19 tosses. In one of those 4 tosses, he even managed to throw heads twice in a row, but then the streak ended.
Our MeinMMO editor Lydia can relate to this. She also feels like her opponent always has a lucky streak. The terrible match, where Rosanna would have been a good counter, can be seen here:
The Reddit user feels like something isn’t right. The community reacts to his statistics and responds that this could very well be the case.
What does the community say? For the fans, the statistic is not conclusive. His test is merely a random sampling. For a more conclusive statistic, he would need to make at least 100 or 1,000 attempts.
Thus, it could be that the player simply had bad luck. His attempt does not prove that the coin tosses aren’t fair.
However, TCG Pocket is still a game where the developers can determine the outcomes of the coin tosses. User ChrAshpo10 suspects that the odds could still be manipulated.
User Mystereevan believes that this is the case with Misty. For him, every other coin toss results in nearly a 50:50 split, but with Misty, he stands at 30 (heads):70 (tails).

In Pokémon TCG Pocket, an event at the Wonder Choice runs for only a few more days. However, many players think the rewards are too meager. They hope the developers will handle it differently in the next event: Pokémon TCG Pocket: Players are upset about the new event because the rewards are too weak
