Pokémon TCG Pocket was released only in October 2024, making it still a relatively young game. Currently, players are waiting for the next expansion, which will be released this week. The eagerly awaited trading feature is also coming soon.

A Dark Mode for Pokémon TCG Pocket – Would that be something?
In the subreddit for Pokémon TCG Pocket, user Mikefromto shared his new idea for a feature: the “Wonder Pack”. His idea, as the user describes, is that you could randomly open one of the other packs through this pack. This way, you wouldn’t have to decide which one to open when you are still missing cards from all packs.
However, in the post where the user presents his concept, something entirely different grabs the attention of the players: a Dark Mode.
In his presentation, Mikefromto has colored the general background of the game dark. You can see what that looks like in his post:
This is what the comments say: In the comments, some players express their excitement about the idea of making the game a bit darker. User “Catastropes” has the top comment with over 1,200 upvotes on the post, which itself has 1,400 upvotes. It says: “The Dark Mode alone is the best thing you have done.”
And many users agree with that.
Why a Dark Mode? A Dark Mode would be a feature that would actually benefit the game. Because Pokémon TCG Pocket is a very bright game.
Especially when lying in bed at night and wanting to play a few rounds, the overall appearance of the game is very bright. Even the first intro screen with the logos of the developers starts with a glaring white, and otherwise, the backgrounds of all game elements are kept very bright.
Many users like to use Dark Modes in various apps on their smartphones, especially when using them in the dark. However, Pokémon TCG Pocket completely lacks such an option.
