The ranged weapons are more than just optional accessories in Crimson Desert. With the right items and skills, you can even initiate explosive airstrikes from a safe distance.
How do the weapons work in Crimson Desert? Protagonist Kliff starts his adventure with a sword, shield, and bow. In combat, he relies on both melee and ranged attacks. He can find other weapon types such as a spear later on.
Moreover, the gray mane gradually learns actively usable attack maneuvers for his weapons through his talent trees, such as a spinning strike or a dodging shot, as well as special elemental powers and movements that allow him to gain height more easily or escape enemy attacks.
How powerful is the bow? Recent preview reports already indicate that the bow is an effective tool for fighting enemies from a distance right from the start.
You can transform arrows into fire arrows, for example, at a fire bowl to deal even more damage or remove flammable obstacles. There are also other variants like poison arrows.
How powerful the bow can become through the skills and items earned over time is now shown in a clip on Reddit by LucasCavalcante25. In the 43-second video, we see how Kliff catapults himself into the air, only to then rain down an explosive airstrike on a large group of enemies.
Later, we also see a lightning strike that temporarily stuns the victim and an ice shot, with which the player creates a robust platform in the water… see for yourself:
“What kind of game is this…”
How does the community react to what has been shown? Like many gameplay clips that are going live right now, the community is also amazed at what is in Crimson Desert. The explosive airstrike, in particular, makes an impression.
- franpier writes on Reddit: “This artillery attack looks phenomenal!”
- esotericvoid can’t believe it on Reddit: “What kind of game is this…”
- Fuarian explains on Reddit: “I’m not even going to question how such a poor archer can trigger an orbital bombardment with burning arrows.”
- Zxar99 believes on Reddit to know where the airstrike comes from: “That’s actually a kind of arrow that causes it. It’s an item, not a skill. This player received it as a reward for a quest they completed before this quest.”
Do all characters have access to the bow? Probably not. It’s clear that the two other playable characters that you unlock with Kliff during the main story bring their own combat styles, talents, and weapons. The agile fighter Damiane, for example, relies on a musket or a pistol, while the giant Oongka blasts away with an explosive cannon.
