In Apex Legends, there are currently many discussions about a ban. A player complained on reddit that he was banned only because he had killed a Twitch streamer. The developers, however, remain firm and stand behind the ban.
This is the situation:
- The reddit user “KongoBoom” claimed that he was banned only because there was a cheater on his team who was fighting against the Twitch streamer “LuluLuvely” – In the end, not only the cheater was banned, but also KongoBoom
- The reddit thread has since been deleted by moderators – previously it had over 25,000 upvotes
- The Twitch streamer was verbally attacked by some people after the post
The situation turned quickly, as KongoBoom, who professed his innocence, may not be so innocent after all.
“Innocent” player cheated himself
This is how Apex Legends reacted: After the developers were under pressure and hundreds of players wanted to know why the supposedly innocent player was banned, Apex Legends responded on Twitter.
There they confirm that the ban is correct. The Bloodhound player who complained on reddit had previously been negatively noted:
- He has had several banned accounts
- He has attempted to circumvent the bans in the past
- Even in the mentioned round, he collaborated with the cheater
This is how the streamer reacted: Also LuluLuvely, who should be the reason for the player’s ban, confirmed her report on Twitter.
She showed a previously deleted Twitch clip there, which is supposed to prove that the ban of all players is justified. She also forwarded this clip to the developers.
The player KongoBoom therefore remains banned. Under the reddit post, numerous comments are now accumulating that are negative towards KongoBoom. After all, he professed his innocence, but according to statements from Apex Legends, he had already been noted for cheating.
Vikovi writes, for example: “The Apex Twitter has exposed itself. How does that feel for you?”
Unjustified bans occur time and again. Recently, the streaming platform Twitch also fell into this trap. They banned a streamer for racist symbols. However, it was only lights in the background.
A player in Apex Legends was also accused of cheating by the community. In the end, he was just playing so well that everyone thought he was cheating. The ban did not follow here, and he was able to continue to impress the community with great kills.
