Another player reports on Reddit that he wanted to trade for the first time in Diablo 4. But then he received a bunch of gold as a gift and subsequently donated 120 dollars for a good cause.
“Pay it forward”
In a post on Reddit, rocketman4599 reports that he was searching for an item in Diablo 4 and had been farming for a long time. His friend encouraged him to trade. In the trading channel, he then pinged the item he wanted to buy.
Then a player gifted him two uniques that are perfect for his build, along with 1 billion gold in the game – saying “Pay it forward.” rocketman4599 then decided to donate 100 dollars in real life for what the player did for him.
In a comment, he included a screenshot that shows his donation. It states: “The American Red Cross is very grateful for your generous donation of 128.13 dollars on November 10, 2024, for disaster relief.” This is approximately 121 euros.
What does the community say about this? Individual Reddit users think this is a “great way to pay it forward.” And Shadowofenigma notes that he often gives items to players who need them. “It feels good to help others,” he explains.
Others seem to feel motivated to also offer loot if someone wants to donate for a good cause. domyourn writes that he donates his collected gold and many boss mats if someone wants to “follow the example of the post creator.” Indeed, someone finds and posts in the Reddit thread a screenshot of a donation.
