MMORPG players sometimes need to invest numerous hours to achieve a desired reward. In Old School RuneScape, for example, there is a raccoon as a pet that a player desperately wanted. However, there was a major problem that he created for himself.
What kind of raccoon is that? Rocky is a pet in Old School RuneScape that players can obtain by improving their Thieving level. The appearance of the pet can be changed with the help of berries. Thus, the raccoon changes its color from gray to red or green.

What was the difficulty in it? The MMORPG player decided to create a character that was to be used solely as a farmer. He was not to gain experience points in any other area, but only increase his Farming level (via reddit).
However, in order to obtain the raccoon as a pet, it is necessary to improve his Thieving level. The player found a trick to somehow still get the raccoon:
- In the mini-game “Garden of the Sorceress”, there are four mazes where fruits called Squörks can be collected. Players must avoid guards, or they will be thrown out of the maze.
- Collecting the fruits gives experience points in both Thieving and Farming. In one of the mazes, however, there are Winter Squörks that only grant the experience bonus for Farming.
- Therefore, the player decided to collect only this one fruit in the maze, drop it, and repeat the whole game.
There are other mini-games in which the user could have collected the fruits. There are mazes that are much easier to complete than the “Garden of the Sorceress”. They have plugin support and are more efficient farming spots.
However, he needs a higher Thieving level to enter the other mazes, which he could not achieve because of his endeavor to play as a pure farmer.

How long did it take him? The chance of obtaining the raccoon this way was 1 in 10,339. The player had to spend 149 hours picking fruits and dropping them again.
Through his endeavor, he forfeited the experience points that would have normally been given for the Thieving level. A user calculated that he would have reached level 88 through his actions.
In the comments of the reddit thread, there are many users who acknowledge the player’s achievement. They express envy and congratulate him on his success. Others, however, cannot understand why a player would put themselves through it.
