Can you complete Minecraft without “mining”? Yes, you can. The result is quite impressive!
Minecraft is, for all its love, no longer a new game and for some gamers therefore quite worn out. Yet people continuously seek new challenges to achieve new successes in the block world. Recently, we had a player who completed Minecraft without taking a single step.
However, the YouTuber Hedgey has imposed a different, strange hurdle on himself. He wanted to complete Minecraft without breaking a single block by hand.
In a game called “Minecraft”, completely forgoing mining sounds a bit crazy. You can see how well it worked here:
This is how Hedgey proceeded: The beginning is particularly rocky because Hedgey first needs to acquire basic resources like food. To do this, he searches for villages and plunders their treasure chests. He hops around on the villagers’ tilled fields because this has a chance of “ruining” the fields, causing seeds or potatoes to pop out of the ground. He can then eat these or simply use them for trades with the villagers.
Piece by piece, he collects his equipment, receives food, iron, and thereby gains access to weapons. This allows him later to collect Ender Pearls to activate the portal that takes him to the “End”. He even manages to completely defeat the Ender Dragon without breaking any blocks. Particularly impressive is how often he saves his life with a bucket of water during this.
What were his tricks? Most blocks and items in Minecraft can also be obtained without breaking them yourself. For example, Hedgey was able to use the exploding Creepers to destroy trees, which then left behind a few pieces of wood. In other cases, he could use the TNT that he found in treasure chests or villages. To trigger this explosion, he only had to activate a button.
