In Baldur’s Gate 3, sausages can help solve some of the trickiest puzzles – if you know how to use them correctly.
In Baldur’s Gate 3, there are some tricky puzzles that have surely driven many of you to the brink of frustration. But even when the answer seems obvious, there are often creative ways to interpret the puzzles differently. The best method so far: sausage. Because with plenty of sausages, you can tackle a trial of Shar.
A path full of safety sausages in Baldur’s Gate 3
What kind of puzzle is this? One of Shar’s trials is called “Leap of Faith.” The puzzle consists of a large area that appears to be completely filled with engulfing darkness. If the character touches this darkness, they are almost instantly killed. However, there is a hard-to-see path that allows you to navigate through the hallway to reach the goal on the other side of the void.
How was the puzzle solved? In the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, Rastasputin shares how his partner approached the puzzle:
My partner is currently on her first playthrough. I am notorious for giving her unwanted tips and ruining her fun, which is why I didn’t say anything this time unless she asked. Last night she had the Leap of Faith trial in Act 2.
She realized there were invisible platforms, and her method of revealing them was … throwing sausages everywhere. Soon she had a path full of safety sausages that led her to the end. I was extremely impressed, absolutely brilliant; that’s one of the many reasons I love her.
Another example that creativity is constantly rewarded in Baldur’s Gate 3 and can lead to unexpected success.
How do you actually solve the puzzle? There are many potential solutions for the puzzle. The most obvious method is to take a closer look at the room before the puzzle. The passable path is embedded as a picture on the ground, so you can basically see in advance which route you need to take through the void to avoid the deadly threat.
Other methods, such as jumping with “Long Jump” or just “Flying” to the target, have been removed from Baldur’s Gate 3 in recent patches – they typically lead to the character’s immediate death now.
In Baldur’s Gate 3, there are many places where creativity and “thinking outside the box” can really pay off, as the developer Larian has left a lot of freedom here. There is a trick that allows you to cast almost infinite spells.
