In ARC Raiders, PvP plays a significant role. A player was attacked by an enemy group, apparently without a chance against them. This made him so angry that he promptly demolished his keyboard.
How you interact with other players in ARC Raiders is entirely up to you. You can take down enemy player characters and secure their loot, for example. Or you can remain friendly and just do your own thing. A statistic from November 2025 even showed that one-fifth of players in ARC Raiders have not killed anyone and nearly half avoid PvP.
A player apparently also tended to be more of a PvE fan. His plan was to fight the Matriarch. The armored behemoth full of deadly weapons appears during certain map events and requires significant skill. However, other players interfered, taking out his character and relieving him of his valuable loot.

Why did the player tear apart his keyboard? When the player attempted to fight the dangerous Matriarch solo, he was ganked by “Rats” in ARC Raiders. This type of player has received their nickname from the community. They camp at Extraction Points, lie in wait for unsuspecting players, or pretend to be friendly only to shoot their victims in the back.
According to his statement, the enemy players only had free loadouts, meaning weaker weapons and gear. But because the solo player was outnumbered and occupied with the Matriarch, he had little chance of escaping the fight alive, which can be termed ganking.
The fact that ARC Raiders became a “non-PvE” game made him so angry that not only did his character go down, but also his keyboard:
