The new MMORPG Lost Ark is experiencing frequent bans, which penalize cheaters and botters. However, several players are currently complaining that they have been banned unfairly. Among them is a player who has already invested 18,000 dollars in Lost Ark.
What is behind the bans? In Lost Ark, account bans occur frequently. The reasons for this can be quite varied:
- Botting
- Goldselling
- Cheating/Hacking
- Toxic behavior in chat
However, an unusually large number of players have been complaining in recent days that they have been permanently banned without knowing why.
Among them is the player TheChozinOne, who claims to have invested more than 18,000 dollars and 400 hours since the release in Lost Ark.
Players feel unjustly banned
What do the players say? TheChozinOne writes in the forum that he was shocked by the ban. According to the screenshot, he was permanently banned for “Cheating.” He should contact Amazon if he feels he has been banned unfairly.
The player did so, but there has been no update yet. The thread is about 36 hours old (via Lost Ark).
Other so-called “whales” – players who invest a lot of money in a service game – are also currently complaining about bans. The user bbcmijk writes, for example, (via Lost Ark):
It seems to have become a reality that I have been banned for cheating after playing this game for 400 hours and spending over $1,500 in Steam transactions, buying all founder packs, and taking 5 days off. How did I cheat, you ask? I would like to know that too… but Amazon is convinced that a robotic response is sufficient for the permanent ban.
In the forum, there are more examples of players who have spent 100 to 500 euros, but also users who have not spent a cent.
Are these bans justified? This cannot be determined from our position. However, there have also been issues with bans in another Amazon game, New World:
- Initially, players were unfairly permanently banned and were later let back into the game.
- There were automatic 24-hour bans if enough people reported. This was even abused to exclude strong players from wars over territories.
Community manager Roxx has also stated that there have been “particularly many of these complaints” recently and that the support team wants to take another closer look (via Lost Ark).
Players demand: Take care of the bots
How are the bans generally received? Lost Ark is currently struggling with a significant bot problem. Some suspect that even the queue problem could be solved if all bots disappeared. Many players are therefore demanding bans.
However, it is curious when players with many hours played and substantial monetary investment are banned, while some users in the forum report that they have been reporting the same bots for days.
What do you think about the situation with the bans and the bots? Do you know a player who has been banned unfairly? And how are the bots on your servers? Feel free to share in the comments.
