At the CEO 2024 Fighting Game Championships, a tournament was held where players had to compete in Mortal Kombat 1. The lucky winner was awarded a small prize. However, he now probably has to pay it back to the tournament organizer – and dig deep into his piggy bank again.
What kind of tournament was it? Dyloch is the lucky winner of the Mortal Kombat 1 tournament. The opponents sat in a fighting ring, which had two chairs and the suitable hardware for gaming. The player was able to assert himself against his opponents and therefore won a prize of around 525 Euros.
Shortly after the victory, Dyloch was delighted and wanted to show it, but he made a fateful mistake. He threw his chair over the edge of the fighting ring and unfortunately hit a lamp belonging to the organizer. You can watch the scene in the following tweet:
Initially, it was said that the lamp was still intact. However, it would need some repairs, according to user UltraProductionGroup in the comments. Later, the tournament organizer himself spoke up and he had no good news for Dyloch.

Organizer demands compensation for the destroyed lamp
What did the organizer demand? Alex Jebailey, the organizer of the tournament, inquired on X about Dyloch’s Paypal address. As he wrote, someone should be responsible for the damage to the lamp and it shouldn’t be him.
In a further tweet, he revealed that the lamp is worth about 2790 Euros. Accordingly, repairing the lamp that Dyloch destroyed with his chair throw is likely to be expensive.
Additionally, Jebailey issued a warning to all those who might dare to throw objects again in the future:
If one more person throws anything, you will be banned from all events that I ever conduct. This is a final warning to everyone in the future. Do not throw things.

The person must not only expect to pay compensation but also face a ban from participating in all future events where Alex Jebailey is involved.
What did Dyloch respond? Meanwhile, the affected Dyloch has reacted to the situation with a funny GIF. He posted a short clip of Donald Duck washing dishes furiously and added: “Me, after CEO was over.”
This likely refers to repairing the expensive lamp, for which he actually has no money and would therefore choose to wash dishes for the organizer instead. Either way, he shows with his reaction that he stands by his hasty action and will probably cover the damage.
If Dyloch had tried a shooter instead, he could have easily covered the repairs with the prize money. Now he has to put his prize money directly into repairing the expensive lamp. In other tournaments like Counter Strike, it is common for million-dollar prizes to lure players.
