In Fortnite there are many ways to eliminate players. Either you defeat your enemies through brute force, vehicles, or gadgets. However, a passionate Fortnite player casts everything in the shadow and shows you that tires can be just as deadly as weapons. We spoke with him.
Videos about a player with special abilities circulated on reddit. Mtaylor0812_, also known as FNTireguy, streams and showcases his clips on the platform. In these, he demonstrates his skills, how he achieves epic victories, defeats opponents, and does so with nothing other than tires.
We seized the opportunity to reach out to him and asked him a few questions about how he came up with such a tactic and what tips he can give you for a tire victory.
What is a tire kill? A tire kill is nothing more than a kill with a tire. You can collect tires in certain places in Fortnite to upgrade your vehicles.
But instead of upgrading your cars, you use the tires and throw them at enemies. This can either knock them off cliffs or fling them into the storm. FNTireguy gives you a taste of his skills in the following video:
“I actually had no idea that I could get kills with tires”
MeinMMO: Hello! Please introduce yourself to our readers. Who are you and how long have you been playing Fortnite?
Mikey: My name is Mikey – I started playing Fortnite since its initial release. It’s crazy to see how far the game has come! Back then, I was trying to find funny ways to win.
MeinMMO: How did you come up with the idea of using tires as weapons?
Mikey: I had no idea that I could get kills with tires until one evening my wife and I were watching FaZe Replays on stream. We saw him get a tire kill, and I was like “Oh my God… No one is ever going to expect this. I have to do it!”
MeinMMO: What was your highest kill streak with tires in Fortnite?
Mikey: My highest tire streak is 9 kills, back when blimps were first introduced. It was so easy to get tire kills from zeppelins!
MeinMMO: How does your match start when you go for a tire run?
Mikey: I have a few different spots where I like to land for tire runs. It initially started at the statue “The Rock” – which I like to call tire island. But as the game changed, blimps disappeared, and I had to adapt.
Now, one of my favorite places to start is on top of the high shipping crates near Chonkers Speedway. 6 shots to get a tire kill, and plenty of high cliffs to knock opponents off!
MeinMMO: What tips do you have for players who want to follow in your footsteps?
Mikey: Be persistent. Don’t give up if you don’t succeed right away. It looks easy, but that’s because I’ve practiced a LOT! Four item slots with tires, one weapon to bait, and a decent amount of materials are good prerequisites. Make sure to aim your throw where your opponents will be – not where they are. And good luck!
We sincerely thank Mikey for the brief interview and wish him continued fun and success in his battles in Fortnite.
