In the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, players level the first class with the main story, while the secondary ones mostly involve combat. One player has now brought a class to level 100 without using any of its abilities.
What happened? The Reddit user Catfish017 shared a post showcasing his gunblade at level 100. The character still wears the starting gear but has a relic weapon from Endwalker, which can be redeemed through quests and Allagan stones.
In the post’s title, the user states that he did not use a single ability while leveling with the tank. He reportedly achieved this by farming experience points through Khloe’s Adventure Album. In a comment, he mentions that it took him a total of 1.5 years from the starting level 60.

Level 100 without abilities? I’ve had worse tanks
How does the community react? Some players find the idea really great. One writes that he is afraid of tanking and wants to use the new leveling technique to complete the role quests (via Reddit). Another specifically states, uh, I’ve had worse tanks

Reddit user KingBanhammer has even had such bad experiences that he trusts Catfish017 more than random players now. Dragon_Yeti (via Reddit) has likely had a few bad tanks as well: […]the level [of a character] is not even remotely an indicator of a player’s experience and skill.
Overall, players regard the achievement very highly. At the same time, there is also dissatisfaction about bad teammates and the unexpectedly easy farming of the last relic weapons.
Can you level other classes this way? Besides sharing opinions, players are also exchanging tips on how they can level their classes effectively. Catfish017 states that he leveled entirely using Khloe’s Adventure Album. But there are also experience points for completing quests related to the relic weapon.
