A player in Baldur’s Gate 3 can’t get enough of a companion and keeps exploding him over and over again. MeinMMO reveals what it’s all about.

In the captivating world of Faerûn, there is a character that stands out in impressive ways: Astarion. Played by Neil Newbon, this role has captured the hearts of one player and presumably many more.
This player has developed a special love for him and repeatedly makes an unusual decision: He lets Astarion explode with a super weapon, simply because he is thrilled by Astarion’s subsequent reaction.

What scene is it about? There is a special secret scene that highlights the impressive talent of Astarion’s voice actor Neil Newbon.
It concerns the decision to activate the solar lance at the end of the Githyanki cradle in Act 1. If you kill Astarion with this super weapon and then revive him, he freaks out. The player raphades is so thrilled with Astarion’s voice actor that he sacrifices Astarion in every new save.
He writes:
No, this is not an “I hate Astarion when I kill him” post. I really love Astarion and keep him in my team in every run. […] The intensity of the dialogues is simply perfect; ever since I found out about it, I blow up the cradle with Astarion in it every time I get there, just to be spoiled by this voice acting talent.

Despite his love for Astarion, he feels the irresistible urge to sacrifice his favorite character in this crucial scene – just to enjoy this moving performance by Neil Newbon once again.
