What kind of NPCs are those? On Reddit, a player writes that useless companions, hairstyles, and emotes can be given to special NPCs. With the current field operation Occult Crescent, veterans snag a lot of exclusive rewards, which may eventually double or may not be needed at all.
According to the thread creator, these special NPCs would have a green plant symbol next to their name and would primarily be found in the beginner cities. This makes it clear: The user refers to real newcomers who have just started with the MMORPG. They are recognizable by such a symbol.
