In Dune: Awakening you can build almost anywhere. However, like in real life, this freedom can negatively affect social interactions. A potential neighborhood dispute has now been peacefully resolved on Arrakis.
What led to the conflict? In Dune: Awakening you have a lot of freedom when building your base. You can build your home on open sand, nestled against a hill, or even on the plateau of a mountain. Raise a martial Harkonnen fortress, move into a cozy 3-room house, or try your hand at a multi-story skyscraper.
However, since you don’t move through the game world alone, but – in the standard zones – with up to 39 other adventurers, this can occasionally lead to conflicts. Especially since the game world is partially very rugged, and you want to avoid open desert areas if possible – keyword: sandworm.
In other words: If you’re not careful about how you set up your virtual home, you can quickly block a popular access road for other players. That’s exactly what happened to the player Negative_Train8887, who then had to face an appropriate accusation (via Reddit).

What is his solution? In his post, the player writes: “To the person who called me out for blocking the path — I heard you, and I’m sorry. I’ve found a solution. Sometimes we all need a wake-up call. So… thank you.”
His elegant solution can be seen in the attached screenshot. He built a tunnel with ramps and a driveable passage into his house, adjusting the permissions so that every player can use the passage. So, he was able to avoid moving.
