A PlayStation player from Turkey has purchased PS Plus for 27 years and wants to save money in the long term with his investment.
Since 2022, PlayStation has expanded its subscription service “PS Plus” and created an alternative to Game Pass for PS4 and PS5. However, in the past, Sony already implemented price increases for PS Plus – at that time, the subscription was “only” necessary for the use of PS online services.
A PlayStation player has now put a plan into action to save money in the future and use the subscription in the long term.
What did the player do? As Reddit user “BassInternational550” writes, a Turkish PlayStation player purchased “PS Plus Deluxe” for 27 years. An attached photo shows that the subscription is valid until August 6, 2050.
Additionally, “BassInternational550” mentioned that the player concluded the subscription for such a long period to avoid price increases. The player’s plan was thus to save money in the long term.
Another user adds in the comments that a 12-month “PS Plus Deluxe” subscription costs 460 Turkish Lira in Turkey, which is about 15.61 Euros. For 27 years of PS Plus Deluxe, the player reportedly paid “only” nearly 420 Euros.
In Germany, 27 years of PS Plus currently costs nearly 1,600 Euros.
Is that advisable? There are various questions concerning PS Plus or the player’s situation that currently cannot be answered.
- Will the subscription still be supported in 27 years?
- Will there be a current PlayStation console in 2050 on which the subscription could be used?
- Will the player still be a PlayStation player in 27 years, or will he have turned away from Sony consoles or gaming altogether by then?
If you book PS Plus for 27 years, you are spending money on a service you do not know if you will still be able to use in 27 years. Whether that is risky for a person ultimately has to be decided by the individual.
Who knows, maybe there will be no price increase for PS Plus in the coming years.
What is PS Plus Deluxe? PS Plus Deluxe is a subscription model that is not available in Germany and is only available in countries where cloud streaming is not offered.
PS Plus Deluxe includes trial versions of AAA games as well as downloadable PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and PSP games.
