In Path of Exile 2, some character stats have a limit that cannot be exceeded. A player has now tested how it affects movement speed, and in the process, has broken the ARPG.
What does he intend to do? The content creator Empyriangaming has attempted on YouTube, in a self-experiment, to create the fastest character in Path of Exile 2. For this to work, he needs the perfect character and the right setup. The YouTuber has done the following:
- His equipment buffs not only movement speed but also various other attributes that make him faster
- He chose the Trials of Sekhemas as the map because he can manipulate this map through various items to make his character even faster
- To reach the right skill points, he chose the Warrior Titan as his class
- He has two friends with him who provide him with buffs to make him even faster
How is his record attempt going? After several attempts and changes of location, Empyriangaming manages to set a new record. Through the setup and the help of his colleagues, he brought his character to a speed modifier of 7446.4%. A character starts at this value with 0%, meaning the YouTuber is absurdly much faster. However, the high speed also has its downsides.
Identification is also fast with this NPC:
High speed breaks PoE2
How does the ARPG become unplayable? Path of Exile 2 is designed for a movement speed close to zero. The fact that characters become faster through modifiers does not harm the ARPG. However, the content creator’s video makes it clear that such a high speed, as he has achieved, overwhelms the game.
The YouTuber’s character seems to move faster in the video than the game’s engine can load the world and its boundaries. Thus, he manages to break through walls, fall into abysses, or glitch onto buildings and fortifications every second.
You can see for yourself how glitchy the game runs at such high speeds:
With a single roll of his character, he is already in the black nothing outside the playable area. Playing Path of Exile 2 normally is impossible. The ARPG is simply not designed for someone to fully run through a map in a matter of seconds.
YouTuber Empyriangaming is not the only one who has pushed the limits of Path of Exile 2 in Early Access. Another player has created a build that can take out whole hordes with just one shot. However, he advises against copying it: Player builds OP build in Path of Exile 2, takes out hordes with just one shot, but you shouldn’t copy it
