Blizzard has made a great effort to signal diversity and inclusion with Diablo 4. Successfully, it seems: a female player is so overwhelmed by the character creation options that she is crying tears of joy live. Tens of thousands like it.
Who is the player? ActuallyArcane creates content for Blizzard games, especially World of Warcraft. On Twitch, TikTok, and YouTube, she mainly explains gameplay for the Arcane Mage in WoW. She also tests the new action RPG Diablo 4. While the community is currently tearing itself apart, she provided a glimmer of hope.
In one of her reactions, she shows herself while creating a Druid. Diablo 4 has a character creation with many options, which was not possible in most previous parts. Many details can be customized.
Druids are currently under criticism, partly due to their appearance. Many fans find the class simply not aesthetic because it has a bit too much meat on the bones.
For ActuallyArcane, this is exactly the point that brings her to tears: ‘She looks like me. She is just like me. Thank you.’ For the player, it is important that representation occurs, and Blizzard has achieved exactly that with the Druid:
‘This brings me so much joy’
This is how other users react: On TikTok, the video already has over 33,000 likes. On Twitter, the post has been viewed over 700,000 times. Many users react to the short clip, sharing in ActuallyArcane’s joy.
The player receives a lot of support. Representation is important, but the character she created also simply looks ‘badass’. Blizzard also receives praise:
It’s amazing what devs can do and add to their games to have such a positive impact on the lives of others. Bizarre that it is done so rarely. I had to hold back a tear; I’m happy for you.

Some accuse ActuallyArcane of just advertising for Diablo 4. However, she emphasizes that she is not paid by Blizzard.
The MeinMMO editorial team has already played the beta. Here is our assessment:
The open beta went a bit bumpy. On the first day, there were several hours of queues and a huge influx, along with errors and problems with gameplay itself. However, most of the time afterward, everything ran smoothly, and many fans could finally get an impression of Diablo 4.
Basically, the game is well received, although there is indeed criticism – notably regarding the Druid, especially in terms of balancing. The classes are still far from where they should be. What changes until the release in June remains to be seen.
