There are now almost 4,000 achievements in World of Warcraft. A player seems to have taken it upon himself to achieve them all. He has now done this for the second time.
Who is the player? The player goes by the name Xirev with his Blood Elf in World of Warcraft. He has published a post on Reddit under the same name, where he shows the screenshot of his achievements window and the achievements he has completed.
It is clearly visible that he has achieved 3,927/3,927 achievements – that is, everything that WoW has to offer. He has practically completed the MMORPG.
Xirev reaches this milestone for the second time. Already in March 2018 for WoW: Legion he completed all 3,314 achievements at that time. He writes: “Finally, I can start playing the game,” a clear reference to a famous line from the WoW episode of South Park.
He is thus one of three players in Battle for Azeroth who have completed all achievements. The other two are Rhías (Realm: Wildhammer) and Billym (Realm: Azralon).
How long did it take him? He did not specify how long exactly it took him to farm the achievements. However, he took six years back in March 2018. Accordingly, he has now added two more years – a total of eight years.
With the release of Battle for Azeroth and the latest Patch 8.3, many new achievements were introduced to the game. Therefore, he had to go back to work after March 2018 for his achievement. We are eagerly waiting to see if he will attempt it again for the upcoming expansion Shadowlands.
What’s the point? Xirev is a “Completionist.” This means he wants to achieve everything that can be achieved in World of Warcraft. This includes having all the achievements there are. He already revealed this in an interview in 2018.
Now, with his new record, he reveals hardly anything about himself or his motivations in his thread. Instead, other players are speculating about what the hardest achievement he has earned might be or how long he may have taken for the BfA achievements.
Together with the achievements, he has also earned most titles and many mounts that World of Warcraft has to offer. Thus, he probably has not much to do until the release of Shadowlands – other than “playing the game.”
