Battlefield 2042 has been in Early Access since November 12, and fans are already playing diligently. Some even find hidden secrets, albeit rather unintentionally – like a player who ended up in a Russian medical station.
What kind of room is this? The reddit user YCarrott found a secret room on the map “Discarded,” one of the maps of Battlefield 2042. As he was flying with the Wingsuit from Sundance, he “landed” there by accident.
Instead of crashing into a wall, he glitched into the secret room. This room is evidently not normally accessible, but is still well-designed. There is a chair and a shelf there, as well as windows that allow a view outside.
The door apparently does not work. However, there is a sign next to the door with the Cyrillic inscription: “Медотсек.” Translated from Russian, this means: medical station.
Update: The player contacted us and informed us that he tried again to enter the room without a Wingsuit. He failed and suspects that it worked the first time because he was going too fast. The game likely couldn’t keep up, and he ended up through the wall into the room, instead of onto the building as intended.
Medical Station – A hint at Battle Royale?
This could mean the secret room: Currently, there are only a few speculations and no real ideas about what the room could mean. However, players have been discussing for a while that Battlefield 2042 was supposed to be a Battle Royale.
The players think this fits. Because the new specialists replacing traditional classes align more with a game mode like Warzone in Call of Duty. The medical station would be a somewhat hidden room where healing items might be found.
Also, the size of the maps, which annoys some players, as well as the design, support this theory. Most maps are spacious with large, empty areas and scattered “hotspots” – populated cities or outposts. Just like one would expect from a Battle Royale.
Does Battlefield 2042 have a Battle Royale? Battlefield 2042 does not have a proper BR mode. The only thing that comes close is Hazard Zone. Here you play in squads against other players and NPCs to extract data from the area.
However, the gameplay is more reminiscent of Escape from Tarkov or Hunt: Showdown, as you collect money like in a roguelite and spend it on equipment in upcoming rounds. However, a “real” Battle Royale could possibly be created with Portal, the creative mode of the game. We explain all modes in our special:
