Update, September 26, 4:00 PM: The 10-hour trial with EA Play is now accessible. On PlayStation, for instance, you need to check the PS Store to start the trial version. It looks like this:
Start issues of the FIFA 23 trial on PC
Meanwhile, there appear to be login issues on PC. Players are receiving an anti-cheat message, for example. This is already being discussed by several players in the FIFA subreddit – but it doesn’t seem to affect everyone (via reddit). The community is already looking for the first solutions to the issues.
Users on Xbox can already access the FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition with the “New Zealand trick” if they have pre-ordered. More about this can be seen below.

When does FIFA 23 start? There are various official dates for the start of FIFA 23.
- The Ultimate Edition officially starts for pre-orders on September 27, 2022
- The same applies to the limited early access via the EA Play trial
- The Standard Edition will be available on September 30 – this is also the official release date for FIFA 23.
There is currently no demo for FIFA 23. However, it seems like one could already start playing FIFA 23 from today, September 26, 2022 – at least under certain conditions.

Update: The trial is now available on September 26, at 4:00 PM. However, there seem to be problems on PC, players may receive anti-cheat messages and 404 errors.
When does the FIFA 23 trial start? Actually, the limited trial for EA Play users was supposed to start on September 27. However, if you check the launcher on PC for the start for EA Play users, September 26 is already indicated as the start date.
According to information from our colleagues at GameStar, the start has also been confirmed for today at 4:00 PM. Accordingly, the 10-hour trial should already be available today for EA Play users who want to play. On PC with EA Play Pro, the time-unlimited version should even be available.
Still, there is another way to play before the official FIFA 23 release.
What about the Ultimate Edition? Everything about the Xbox trick with New Zealand
When does the FIFA 23 early access for the Ultimate Edition start? Pre-orders of the Ultimate Edition can officially start on September 27, likely at 00:00. However, there has been a trick in previous years to play earlier on Xbox. You just have to switch your Xbox to the New Zealand time zone.
- Go to your Xbox settings
- Select the settings for language and location
- Change your location to “New Zealand”
The start in New Zealand at 00:00 corresponds to 13:00 here. In the past, this has allowed players to access the game earlier on Xbox – this time it might work as well.

What about PlayStation? On PS5 or PS4, the trick might not be advisable, as you would need to create a new account with the corresponding time zone and continue using it.
