The PlayStation 5 is finally (more or less) available. But do you know how to get the most out of your new console? Our special issue provides helpful tips and advice on technology, TVs, and configuration.
Even as a long-time GamePro editor, I can tell you: it wasn’t easy to get a PlayStation 5 in time for the launch. In the first two pre-order waves of the console, which costs between 400 and 500 Euros, the good piece was sold out in both variants (with and without a disk drive) in no time.
I speak from experience, as I also came up empty-handed. Those who weren’t quick enough are now left without a next-gen console and should seriously consider purchasing one at an inflated price on eBay.
This problem does not exist (yet) with our 146-page special issue on the PlayStation 5, as you can get it for the low price of 9.99 Euros – about one hundredth of what particularly cheeky resellers are currently asking for the console.
Not a bad deal, considering that the magazine is packed with useful tips and tricks for dealing with the console, as well as extensive reviews of the available and upcoming games and the hardware itself.

No, it’s not like before: “Unbox the console, connect it, and start playing” is a thing of the past. Even seasoned gaming editors can be confused by the new technology and features. I’m no different.
That’s why you will find in the PS5 special issue detailed beginner guides on topics such as PlayStation account, data transfer, backward compatibility, technology, and, very importantly, TVs. Because the full power of the PS5 is only realized with the right TV. Keyword HDMI 2.1!
It would be a shame to stock up on new hardware and new games, and then not be able to enjoy it as the developers intended. There are several tricks to overcome. Just think of Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War.
Many players are unknowingly playing the technically trimmed PS4 version on their brand-new PS5. Frustrating! So it makes sense to read our special issue first. Even if you didn’t get a console and have to wait a bit longer – you’ll already be informed when it finally arrives!

So: Whether you count yourself among the lucky ones who have already managed to get a PlayStation 5 and want to optimize your system with our guides, or whether you (like my new giant TV and I) still have to wait a bit and want to read up in the meantime – I think our special issue is definitely worth it!
