Daybreak Game Company is discontinuing two of its titles, including the shooter PlanetSide.
PlanetSide launched in 2003. It will come to an end on July 1, 2016, as announced by Daybreak.
The game was very important to Daybreak and held a special place in the hearts of all who worked on its successor. However, due to “evolving business reasons and technical requirements,” it is now necessary to terminate the service. Since 2014, PlanetSide has been free-to-play.
The mentioned successor Planetside 2 was released in 2012 for PC and in 2015 for PS4.
In addition to Planetside, Daybreak is also shutting down the Everquest card game “Legends of Norrath.”
