In the Free2Play MMO shooter Planetside 2, there is a large content update available starting today. The new patch brings, in addition to bug fixes and minor adjustments, a fresh achievement element to the game with the “Directives”.
The “Directives” introduce a new progression system to Planetside 2 that is not just for show but also grants players access to exclusive Auraxium prestige weapons and allows them some decorative items. Well, it is excellent for boasting and showing off.
The system is meant to provide new players guidance and recommendations on which direction they can take and what goals they should aim for, while experienced players simply have a lot to do.
The “Directive” achievements have various rank levels, with the lowest being Bronze and the highest being Auraxium. As you fight your way through the individual ranks of an achievement, you unlock rewards and also something to show off. The ranks must be completed individually with each character, while some rewards count account-wide.
