The Pikachu ex Deck is one of the best decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket. What cards do you need?
What makes the Pikachu ex Deck special? The key card in this deck is Pikachu ex. You can include this Pokémon twice in your deck.
The card features the attack Round Circuit, which only requires two energies but can deal up to 90 damage – as the damage of the attack increases by 30 for each of your Electric Pokémon on the bench.
Accordingly, there are only Electric Pokémon in a strong Pikachu ex Deck. We will show you which cards you use to complement it and thus build one of the best decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
Pikachu ex Deck – What cards do I need?
There are different variants of the Pikachu ex Deck, as various Pokémon can fit in here. A very strong version of the deck additionally relies on Zapdos ex and Raichu.
Card List for Pikachu ex Deck:
- Pikachu ex (x2)
- Zapdos ex (x2)
- Pikachu (x2)
- Raichu (x2)
- Pokéball (x2)
- Potion (x2)
- X-Initiative (x2)
- Major Bob (x2)
- Professor’s Research (x2)
- Sabrina (x2)
Strategy for the Pikachu ex Deck: Ideally, you want to get Pikachu ex into the active position as quickly as possible and then fill the bench with additional Electric Pokémon. This will increase the damage of Round Circuit. However, Pikachu itself does not have very high stamina, so you need other strong Pokémon.
Zapdos ex is also a powerful attacker, but it requires 3 Electric energies for its strong attack “Thunderous Hurricane” and can therefore only strike later. Additionally, the attack requires luck as you have to flip four coins. Each “Head” deals 50 damage – so up to 200 damage is possible. But it could also be less.
That’s why it’s good to build another strong Pokémon in the background. Evolve Raichu on the bench for this. With X-Initiative, you can quickly bring it into play for your injured Pikachu or Zapdos when you need a powerful attack. Here, “Major Bob” comes into play: The card moves all your energies on the bench to Raichu in the active position.
With Raichu, you can then use “Thunderbolt” and deal 140 damage. This can knock out a large portion of the cards in TCG Pocket in one go. Just keep in mind: All energies on the Pokémon will then be lost. So it’s something for the final attack in the game.
Alternatives: Ideally, you should always have Pikachu ex and Zapdos ex in the deck. Other cards that fit into a Pikachu ex Deck are:
- Elezeba
- Zebritz
- Voltobal
- Lektrobal
- Red Card
- Giovanni
