World of Warcraft Classic receives its first major update. We tell you what is changing in the classic version of WoW now.
Tomorrow is finally the day: On November 12, 2019, World of Warcraft Classic enters the next phase – step by step. The start of Phase 2 means not only some “new” content but also significant changes to layering and thus the structure of the realms. We tell you what you need to know for the launch of Phase 2 to be well prepared.
The end of layering: The start of Phase 2 marks the end of layering on all realms. This means that there will only be one version of the game world on each realm going forward, and characters can no longer exist in different layers. You will be able to see all players on your realm permanently. This happens tomorrow, on November 12.
Blizzard has already warned that this may lead to waiting times on some realms. We have also expressed concerns several times about whether the Classic world can handle this and whether there will still be enjoyment in the game with this overcrowding.
Following this, on Thursday, November 14, the real content of Phase 2 will arrive.
First world bosses in the game world: With the start of Phase 2, two world bosses can be fought in the open world. They are:
- Azuregos – The blue dragon is located in Azshara.
- Lord Kazzak – This giant demon can be found in the Blasted Lands.
Both world bosses have a very long cooldown that can vary – from several hours to a few days. In clear terms, this means that world bosses can only be defeated by one group and must be respawned afterward. Anyone who wants to defeat them quickly should actively look out for them and preferably have a group or guild ready.
PvP system is active: The PvP system is now also active. This enables players to earn honor and rank up by defeating enemy players. This is rewarded with various items that can be acquired at different ranks.
However, be warned: There are no real “battlegrounds” yet, which makes effective farming of honor difficult. Anyone who wants to reach the high ranks will have to engage in open-world PvP nearly all day, such as in Crossroads or Hillsbrad.
The keyring: Lastly, players can expect the keyring. This expands your inventory by a few slots that can only be occupied by keys. In the future, keys (for dungeons, for example) will not go into your bags but into the keyring – saving you space.
Are you excited for Phase 2 of WoW: Classic? Or do you still have enough to do and don’t need new content yet?
