If you are on YouTube, you will have heard something about the YouTuber “PewDiePie” sooner or later. He is a legend and many know him from his old gameplay videos of Minecraft or Amnesia. He was once among the biggest YouTubers on the platform, but after 12 years, that has now changed.
Who is PewDiePie? PewDiePie (real name: Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg) is one of the most famous YouTubers in the world. In 2010 he founded his channel “PewDiePie”. His program was mainly about Let’s Plays of Minecraft, the horror game Amnesia, or other games. After 2 years, PewDiePie reached his first million subscribers, and the numbers kept rising.
Several years passed until in 2014 he had over 27 million subscribers – at that time he was one of the YouTubers with the most subscribers on the platform. He was able to maintain his position for many years, but then the YouTuber distanced himself from his work.
In 2022, the creator explained to his fans that he wanted to continue on YouTube, but not to become bigger. Instead, he wanted to make videos for fun.
This is also reflected in his output. Since then, PewDiePie has only sporadically released individual videos on various topics – like moving to Japan or building his own gaming PC.
Since he stopped releasing videos regularly, he slowly fell down the top 10 most subscribed channels. Now, after 12 years, he was even completely removed from the ranking.

What place does PewDiePie occupy now? PewDiePie is currently in 11th place. Above him are 10 other YouTubers from around the world, offering different formats. This last happened in 2013.
In 1st place is the famous Mr. Beast with his crazy videos, in which he invests a fortune, to realize them – he has 408 million subscribers.
In 2nd place is T-Series, an Indian channel with 297 million subscribers, which mainly focuses on music.
In 3rd place, Cocomelon has made itself comfortable. This is a famous channel with videos for toddlers, featuring animated children, adults, and animals in their daily lives.
In 10th place is the South Korean channel that pushed PewDiePie out of the ranking: 김프로KIMPRO relies mainly on YouTube Shorts and publishes short, funny videos.
You might think that this is the end of a legendary era. Nevertheless, PewDiePie posts one or the other video about his private life. When you look at his views, you can tell that many fans have not forgotten him and are eagerly waiting for what the YouTuber has to share.
