In Fortnite, crossovers have been continuously released for some time. The community welcomes these with open arms, but a YouTuber is speaking out against it. PewDiePie is not at all okay with it and we from MeinMMO will show you why.
What happened? Fortnite has been releasing many crossovers for a while now. From Batman- to fashion collaborations, everything is represented. Players who are fans of such series or labels are really into it and are excited to see their beloved idols or favorite characters in action.
PewDiePie, who also actively plays Fortnite, observed Epic’s actions closely. Now he has had enough of the crossovers and expressed his displeasure in a funny way to his viewers.
Fortnite destroys the magic behind the ninja world
PewDiePie understands the reasoning behind why Epic sees it as a good idea. However, he still does not accept the entry of ninjas into the Fortnite world because it ruins his childhood.
Naruto exists in a ninja world ruled by power-hungry people. In the anime, battles are fought either with throwing knives or special techniques known as “Jutsus”. These techniques are made possible through physical energy, called “Chakra”.
Thanks to Fortnite, now not only Naruto, but the whole Team 7 is on the map, running around with assault rifles to make the island unsafe. This ruins the overall image of the anime.
It’s not just about Naruto: The famous YouTuber PewDiePie expressed himself about not only Naruto but also about Halo and Superman. He understands that the Halo crossover is still acceptable, even if the setting does not fit.
He at least had a weapon and used it against opponents. But guns just don’t fit Superman and Naruto.
This also includes fashion collaborations, like for example, the one with Balenciaga. The YouTuber wonders what target audience that should have. A teenager can hardly afford a white sweater that is sold for $550. These sweaters also have absolutely nothing special about them, just a plain print of both brands.
Additionally, he adds that if Fortnite ever plans an IKEA collab, he would be done with the game.
What does the community think about it? Under his video, opinions are quite diverse. Some players feel the same way as PewDiePie. Other players still think that the efforts have paid off.

This certainly hits the nail on the head. Epic’s efforts in creating the skins have borne fruit, and players celebrated the collab, yet the question remains whether every crossover should really make it into the Fortnite world.
