Golf is apparently also a topic in WoW Classic HC. Because a streamer lost his character because of it – and a nasty dragon is thrilled.
In World of Warcraft, there are many ways to die quickly. But most of them are insignificant – at least in direct comparison to WoW Classic Hardcore. Because there, death is permanent and every character has only one life. This also means that a death can be particularly frustrating, as sometimes days and weeks of playtime are lost.
It is all the more entertaining when streamers record their deaths live – like in the example of “Guzu,” who has humorously passed away multiple times.
What happened? The streamer Gugu was leveling his Orc warrior “Guzu” and was in the Sunken Temple. It’s actually quite a relaxed dungeon – most enemies are lower level. Therefore, he was chatting quite casually with his viewers during this time. For a brief moment, he ignored the boss fight against the dragon “Weaver” to show one viewer his mousepad and hold it up to the camera.
But when he looked back at the screen, it was already too late: Weaver had knocked back the Orc, who flew across the hall – and accurately into the only hole in the middle of the room. In a moment of presence of mind, Gugu tried to open his backpack to drink a Noggenfogger Elixir, which might grant him “Slow Fall” – but that didn’t happen.
At level 52, the Orc hit the ground and died immediately. Weaver had perfectly aimed him.
Was that his first death? No. Even before the launch of the official Hardcore servers, Guzu was part of the Hardcore community and had attempted the unofficial challenge. Even then, he lost his character in a rather “stupid” way. He accidentally clicked on a Demonic Rune – and brought his Warlock from 40% health to 0%.
A typical case of “fat-fingered”.
How does the community react: They take it all with a lot of humor and even tease a bit. Because shortly after Gugu started his next character – an Undead warrior – an Orc rides up to him and explains that he found “a cloak that he would like to give him”.
Gugu accepts the trade and then exhales heavily – because it is an Engineering parachute cloak. This could have prevented his death from falling into the hole.
Who has the damage should not worry about the mockery.
