To see the YouTuber MrBeast at an event in Los Angeles, some fans paid over $1,000. Now they feel cheated by him and are demanding their money back.

, Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson promised his fans an “immersive” and “unforgettable” experience. Instead, they were stuck in their hotel rooms for several days and were hardly offered anything.

People pay $1,000 for a box of chocolate and cheap merch
Visitors described the experience to the local outlet 8 News Now as “nothing short of terrible” – some of them paid over $1,000, or about 900 Euros, for it.
- Guests were told to wait in their hotel rooms for a “mysterious arrival.” They did, some for more than a day. The advertised surprise was a box of chocolate.
- Fans were also promised exclusive merch for the event, but that didn’t materialize either. The “mystery bag” contained seemingly randomly selected MrBeast merch, which can also be found in the YouTuber’s shop.
A visitor recounts the contents of her box: “It had kids’ shorts, an extra small shirt, a cap, and a shirt in size M.” Not only can you buy all of that in the shop – the merch is even on sale there. So they are far from the promised “exclusive items.”
Events did not take place, hotel allows refunds
Even the promised events did not take place. A daughter who traveled to the event with her mother said: “There were supposed to be mini-games, meet-and-greets, photo opportunities, special drinks, and things like that. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any of that.”
The hotel was initially hesitant regarding compensation. Visitors received a $50 voucher for food and drink. The hotel is now offering visitors a full refund, as 8 News Now confirmed after the company’s response.
MrBeast is certainly not in a good position after this disappointing event: “If Jimmy is involved, I hope he feels good about having cheated a whole bunch of adults and their kids,” said a participant who traveled all the way from Los Angeles. She added: “So that’s how you get subscribers? Cool”
