In the HBO hit The Last of Us, he received one of the main roles as Joel Miller. However, the actor once forgot about his role commitment, as he laughingly recounted.

In the talk show “The Graham Norton Show”, the actor explained in February 2023 how he completely forgot that he was cast in the HBO series The Last of Us.
The actor shares that he was in London for a job. Then everything happened quite quickly: he read the scripts and exchanged ideas with the key people in the project.
For this, Pascal had to stay awake deep into the night, as the project leads were in L.A. After that, the actor was very excited about the prospect of the role in The Last of Us.
To calm down, he took a sleeping pill. He expected to receive a call the next day about whether he had gotten the role or not.
But then the phone rang. A bit hazy from the pill, the actor answered.
They called me to tell me that I got the job, but I had already taken the pill […]
I remember reacting like this: “Oh my God!”, and then apparently a few minutes passed on the phone and I was like: “So how does it look, did I get the job?”

The caller then replied confused: “What are you talking about? We called you and told you that you got the job.” Pascal responded with: “Oh, did you?”
The actor then clarified to the caller that he had just taken a sleeping pill.

The next day, the actor woke up… and wondered again if he had gotten the job in The Last of Us. Pascal prepared himself to wait all day for a call about whether he had gotten the role of Joel Miller or not.
However, later, when people congratulated him via message for his role, the actor recalled the commitment and was happy about his big project (via YouTube).
In the same clip, the star also admitted that he did not know the game The Last of Us before he got the job opportunity.
Only through his two nephews did he learn more about it, both of whom immediately urged him to participate in the video game adaptation.
