Wireless or Wired?
Nowadays, more and more wireless devices are being used. After all, they take up less space on the desk. However, if one doesn’t pay attention to the battery level, the keyboard can suddenly fail. If one is in the middle of a game, that can be extremely annoying.

When buying a wireless variant, several factors should be considered. A battery loses capacity the more charge cycles it has. Therefore, it should not be permanently installed, but replaceable. For power-saving purposes, a power switch is advisable. But the most important question is how the inputs are transmitted.
- Bluetooth is currently predominantly used and has a range of about 10-20 meters. It should be noted that the Bluetooth receiver is included in the delivery; some providers like to sell these separately. Since many tablets are also equipped with Bluetooth, the keyboard can also be used for these tablets.
- Radio transmits signals via radio waves. The range is significantly higher, up to 40 meters. Its disadvantage is slightly lower security. The information transmitted via radio can be intercepted by nearby individuals.
- One should definitely avoid accidentally buying an infrared variant. In this case, the sender and receiver must have a clear line of sight to each other. A simple obstacle, such as a cup, is enough to prevent typing.
