Our underdog recommendations for players waiting for Destiny 2
For the 5th game on the list, we offer you three alternatives:
- Defiance – a somewhat older sci-fi MMO shooter. Defiance is free. In terms of gameplay and structure, it is similar to Destiny; however, it is a game from the PS3 era – so it is only conditionally recommended if you are looking for visual flair – which Destiny is known for. But you also shoot countless aliens in Defiance.
- Planetside 2 has the same problem. It is basically the only true “MMO shooter,” fully focused on PvP and massive battles. However, Planetside 2 is also a game from a different generation. A F2P title, checking it out is free. The community is considered tight-knit.
- Fortnite on the other hand, is a current coop shooter with plenty of loot and fun. However, in terms of gameplay, it is far from Destiny 2. Fortnite is a short-lived game with problems in long-term motivation – perhaps an alternative for the weeks until Destiny 2 is released. The best way to get it is to wait for a free invitation from a friend who got a deluxe-XXL-with-cream-edition. Those come with friend invitations.
