Do you really have to spend a lot of money in Diablo Immortal to be the best? 2 clans on a US server want to find out and are planning a showdown at the most important endgame event of the game.
Here’s what the showdown is about: Player War10ckGaming shared on reddit the plan of his clan to fight for server dominance. He is part of a guild of ambitious Free2Play players on a US server.
Their biggest opponents are a clan founded by a so-called “whale,” consisting of players who spend a lot of money on Diablo Immortal. The clans’ plan is now to determine who is truly better in the Rite of Exile.
What kind of event is this? In the Rite of Exile, the best players of a server fight against each other. The rite begins when shadow clans have completed a specific number of tasks. The game’s trailer already shows what this looks like:
In several rounds, it will be decided which of the clans has the right to fight for dominance. They will then challenge the current immortals. If they succeed in victory, new immortals will be crowned – basically the “rulers” of the server with certain advantages.
The event takes place this Sunday, June 19, on the respective server for the first time. The guilds are also fighting for the very first dominance ever. You can read more about it in our guide to shadows and immortals in Diablo Immortal.
Pay2Win clan pays “$10,000 per player”
How do the Free2Play players plan to win? The leader of the “Pay2Win” clan assured War10ckGaming that no one in his clan has paid less than $10,000 (about €9,500). Allegedly, he even kicked out everyone who didn’t pay enough.
Currently, the clan of War10ckGaming plans to provide their guild leader with platinum so that he can purchase some of the best legendary gems without them having to spend real money. The video provides more information about the gems:
According to some supporters, it is important that the leader quickly puts together the set of Unyielding Charlatan. This is apparently extremely useful in PvP.
War10ckGaming sounds quite confident. He says that while his guild is already defeating more powerful opponents in the Reliquary of Hell, the “Pay2Win” players are still busy clearing out AFK farm spots in the open world.
What are the chances? One player already calculated how strong equipment for €0 is against that for €33,000. However, this only applies to the combat rating, which only affects PvE.
In PvP, resonance is an important factor that makes players stronger. This can be increased through good legendary gems, which can be obtained significantly faster through money. Accordingly, the “Pay2Win” clan theoretically has a significant advantage.
However, there has never been such a large showdown where only paying players faced off against only strong players with Free2Play accounts. It may be that skill ultimately prevails. At least that was also the developers’ promise:
