In Pokémon GO, trainers can currently obtain the monster Rocara with a ticket for the global GO Fest. This proves to be very useful.
What is happening in Pokémon GO? The big Pokémon GO Fest in summer 2023 is approaching. This is noticeable, for example, because new information about the GO Fest has been released, and also the powerful Mega-Rayquaza has now been announced.
Additionally, on June 21, 2023, a research was unlocked for all players who have already pre-ordered a ticket for the global GO Fest. This ticket can currently be purchased in the shop for 14.99 euros.
Somewhat surprisingly, this research also includes the Pokémon Rocara as a reward, which will then be available for all other players during the GO Fest in August. However, players who purchased the ticket and thus the preliminary research can already access it now. And it turns out: The monster is currently extremely useful in PvP.
How strong is Rocara from the new special research – Directly Rank 1 in PvP
Where is Rocara strong? The seemingly harmless Pokémon is actually a very strong monster in the Super League of the PvP battle league.
This might be underestimated, but the PvP platform “PvPoke,” which provides current rankings for the meta of the battle league, currently ranks it directly at Rank 1 among the best monsters in the Super League.
With the combination of Stone Edge, Rock Slide, and Moonblast, Rocara is quite dangerous when sent into the Super League. The PvP expert “JRE47” also shared an assessment in the Pokémon GO subreddit “TheSilphRoad” that categorizes Rocara as very powerful and influential in the meta of the league (via reddit).
However, there is one thing to consider: Rocara needs to be brought to level 50 to reach a CP amount that makes it really dangerous in the league. Except, as JRE47 mentions, if one manages to obtain a 4-star variant of Rocara – then level 41.5 is sufficient.
This means one needs an extremely large amount of stardust and candies to bring Rocara to top level. And that is somewhat difficult given the availability.

What do players say? Some players express surprise at how useful Rocara actually is. However, some critical voices regarding Rocara in the research have also been raised.
For example, there is criticism from players who booked tickets for the live events for the GO Fest but did not receive corresponding research in advance – because that is only available with the ticket for the global GO Fest.
Furthermore, players who can already access the strong Rocara do have an advantage over players who did not purchase a ticket. This is not well received by everyone (via reddit).
- “I am not happy that the buyers of in-person GO Fest tickets do not also get an early one, but oh well,” writes a user (via reddit).
- “So $14.99 for early access to Rocara. That’s a no from me, buddy,” says another (via reddit).
For the global GO Fest at the end of August, Rocara will then be available to more players, according to the current status.
