The complex Action RPG Path of Exile has released the new major update Synthesis. This has led to a significant increase in player numbers on Steam and is well received by fans.
What is Synthesis? The next addon for the popular Action RPG Path of Exile allows you to penetrate the mind of the NPC Canvas. There, you collect fragments of his memory.
You then use the fragments to construct your own dungeons, similar to the previous update Incursions.
These custom-built instances have to be completed, and you must complete all tasks and bosses within a certain time.
In addition, Synthesis offers the archetypes Chaos and Holy Spellcaster, a revised spell system, new “Fractured Items”, and an improved soundtrack.
When will Synthesis be released? The update is already available on PC and Steam. The PlayStation version will come later this month, which players there are not happy about and express their displeasure loudly on Twitter and other platforms.
Player numbers on Steam almost at record high
This is how Synthesis is being received by players: Players of Path of Exile are celebrating the update. Recently, over 111,000 players were recorded on Steam. This is close to the record of 123,462 players who logged in during December. This latest success was due to the outstanding addon Betrayal, which was very well received by the fans.
Is a new record in sight? Synthesis seems to be following up that success. Only about 12,000 more players are needed for Path of Exile to set a new record on Steam. Since the addon has not been on the market for long, a lot can still change.

This is how Path of Exile is rated: The ratings on Steam are also very good. There are over 70,000 positive votes, with around 5,000 negative votes opposing them. For many fans, Path of Exile remains the better Diablo 3.
This is because the developers at Grinding Gear focus on complexity and depth rather than adapting the game for a broad audience of casual players. Those who want to engage with Path of Exile must spend many hours delving in and optimizing their character along with skills and equipment.
Additionally, there is an extremely fair Free2Play model, where nobody is forced to spend money.
