The Hack & Slash Path of Exile will continue to grow in 2020. The developers announced that 4 expansions are waiting for players – and that, even though the second part is already in the works.
This is how Path of Exile continues: The first part of the hack & slash will not stand still in 2020. In a kind of roadmap for this year, the developers have outlined what will happen next.
In 2020, another 4 expansions are planned, which will be released in the usual quarterly schedule. The mobile and console teams are also working on expanding their platforms.
First expansion likely coming in March
This is the situation with the expansions: The expansions 3.10.0 – 3.13.0 are planned. The first expansion is likely to be announced at the end of February, according to the developers.
Compared to last year, the expansions can be delayed by about 1-2 weeks each. Therefore, the first expansion is expected in March 2020.
This is what is still being worked on: The developers emphasize that they are continuing to work on the console version of Path of Exile and plan to even expand the team for that. After the PS4 release in March, additional features for console users are to follow that are currently under development.
Path of Exile Mobile is also expected to progress. After the announcement in November 2019, development is supposed to continue this year. They are planning, among other things, Android support.
What about Path of Exile 2? The year for the first part of Path of Exile looks quite full, even though the studio Grinding Gear Games has already announced a second part of the game. They have so far referred to it as 4.0.0 and it is actually a huge expansion.
The development of 4.0.0 is ongoing, with the team working hard on content that was not shown in the ExileCon Act One Demo. We expect to show significantly new content and features possibly around mid this year. Maybe around E3? We will let you know as soon as we have a concrete plan

How is Path of Exile doing currently? The hack & slash is doing very well currently. In 2019, Path of Exile doubled its player count. On Twitch, the new league of Path of Exile also performed well and enjoyed many viewers.
