What is Blight? The latest league of Path of Exile started on September 6 and introduced a tower defense-like mode where you have to fight a mushroom monster. Daily master missions, a second skill bar, and more were also included in the update.
Technical Problems En Masse
What is the problem? Since the launch of Blight, players have been complaining about numerous technical issues. These include frequent crashes with cryptic error messages. Additionally, Path of Exile frequently freezes for some players. There are also complaints about severe FPS drops and the servers are very unstable.
What do the developers say? Grinding Gear Games has addressed these issues and confirmed them. Unfortunately, the developers also state that they have not been able to identify the causes of many of the problems so far.
However, GGG has already released a series of hotfixes that only provide minimal improvement. The majority of the issues remain unresolved. The team promises to work diligently on patches. However, no one can say when the problems will be fixed at this moment.
On which platforms are the issues occurring? The mentioned crashes, performance drops, and server instabilities exist on all platforms. Grinding Gear Games explains that they are even more severe on consoles than on PC.
Players are Slowly Losing Patience
How do players respond? It is noticeable in the community that players’ patience is running thin. The problems have persisted for almost three weeks now, and the developers still do not know when they will be resolved. Consequently, morale is dropping.
Many even go so far as to declare that Path of Exile is unplayable in its current state. For others, the issues are not as severe. However, they are annoying, but the hack ‘n slash can still be played with a bit of patience.
