How does trading work in Path of Exile? In Path of Exile, there is currently no global currency like gold used for trading. Instead, there are about 30 different trading items that players exchange with each other.
Currently, to trade, one must first find a trading partner. This usually happens through a website. Then, you message them in-game and hope for a response. If that works out, you visit them in their hideout and trade there.
What is daily life for experienced players poses great challenges to new players, or they don’t trade at all because the system is poorly described. The new update is meant to change this.

Now there is Gold
How is the update supposed to change trading? With the new update for Path of Exile, gold is set to be added to the game. While it is still very rare at the beginning, players shouldn’t have to worry about it in the endgame.
The gold in the game will be used to trade with other players through the NPC Faustus. He is located in Kingsmarch, a new town that will also appear with the update. The NPC allows the exchange of currencies that have previously been used for trading in the game with other players.
This allows a player to make an offer, for example, if they want to trade 30 Chaos Orbs for a Divine Orb. Once a player is found who wants to make this trade, they can simply do so, regardless of whether the other player is online or offline.
The system also works with a larger number of items. It will allow for easier currency exchanges in the future.
But what is gold needed for? Gold will be used to pay a sort of trading fee. This is always due when players set up a trade. This is intended to prevent bots from being able to trade endlessly. The gold itself will not be tradable, so it will not replace the old currencies.
