In Path of Exile 2 there is a problem with the Tinkers Tools on the map Mawdun Quarry. We explain how to obtain the item.
What are the Tinkers Tools? The Tinkers Tools are a quest item in Path of Exile 2 that you should obtain in the Mawdun Quarry. A bug currently prevents players from acquiring the item as intended. However, the quest is not completely broken, and there is a way to actually get the item.
Here you can watch the cinematic intro of Path of Exile 2:
Obtaining Tinkers Tools despite the bug
How can you obtain the Tinkers Tools? To get the quest item, you first need to go to the map Mawdun Quarry. There, you need to defeat miners to make the item drop.
Even if you have defeated all the miners on the map, the drop is not guaranteed. If you have cleared the entire map, first check the world map to see if the symbol is faded out; in that case, you have completed the quest, even if the item is not displayed.
If the icon is still not faded out, you need to reset the map. To do this, move to any web point and press Ctrl + left-click. A menu will open, showing you all active instances of the map. An instance remains open for 8–15 minutes.
Click “NEW” in the menu to generate a fresh map. Defeat all the miners there again. It might take a few runs before you obtain the item. On Reddit, one user reported that they were able to claim the item after their 7th run.
Is the problem already known? Yes, the developers of Path of Exile 2 have now confirmed that there is a problem with the quest item (via pathofexile.com). The bug is being treated with priority and is expected to be fixed in one of the upcoming updates.
The developers clarify that you need to defeat the right enemies for the item; it is not enough to just kill any enemies on the map; they must be the miners.
