Path of Exile 2 has enjoyed great popularity since its release in December 2024. Now the developers have released the first season, Dawn of the Hunt, which has brought a host of new features and improvements to the game.
What is Dawn of the Hunt? The new and first season of Path of Exile 2 in early access is called Dawn of the Hunt. It is a major player expansion intended to provide a fresh start in the game.
What new class is there? With the new season, the new class of the Huntress has been introduced. She fights both melee and ranged, armed with a spear and a shield.
In addition, three new expansion classes, known as Ascendancy classes, have been released:
- The Tactician as an expansion class of the Mercenary
- The Smith of Kitava as an expansion class of the Warrior
- The Lich as an expansion class of the Witch
The Huntress started in the game with two expansion classes.

Dawn of the Hunt brings new content
What new weapons have been added? The spear is available to various classes as previous weapons. Along with it came 25 new skills, which can also be used by other classes. In addition, there is the new “Buckler,” a one-handed shield that can parry enemy attacks.
How has the balance been adjusted? Game Directors Jonathan Rogers announced that the balance of Path of Exile 2 will be fundamentally changed. Old values and builds will be altered and supplemented with over 100 new support skills and over 100 new unique items in the game.
Are there changes to the skill tree? Yes, there have been changes to the Atlas Passive Skill Tree. The developers have added new choices and adjusted the skill tree.
What changes in the endgame? A smoother introduction to the endgame is also new. Low-difficulty maps will have a number of respawns, so the transition from the campaign to the endgame should be less abrupt. Furthermore, new endgame mechanics and new maps are being added. The tower maps have also been changed.
What new support gems are there? Especially the melee classes and abilities that previously had few support gem options are the focus of the new gems. In total, there are over 100 new support gems in Dawn of the Hunt.
What items are new in the ARPG? The developers want more uniques in Path of Exile, so with Dawn of the Hunt, they have introduced over 100 new unique items into the game.
What is the deal with the new mount? For the first time, a mount has been added to Path of Exile 2 in Dawn of the Hunt. With a skill, any class can summon an ostrich-like bird on which to ride and fight. If it takes too much damage, it will throw the character off. During this time, your character will be incapacitated for a short period.
