The developers of Path of Exile 2 brought many changes with their new patch meant to improve the new season “Dawn of the Hunt”. However, a bug has also entered the game, frustrating players.
What kind of new patch is this? The new season of Path of Exile 2 “Dawn of the Hunt” started sluggishly. Right from the beginning, there were technical problems, and the nerfs also caused frustration. Although the developers responded multiple times with hotfixes, it was still not enough to soothe the anger. Recently, there were also problems with the servers.
The new patch, which went live on the night of April 11, was supposed to reward fans with many improvements, buffs for players, and nerfs for enemies. However, along with the update came a nasty bug that destroyed an important mechanic.

The portal trap causes trouble
Which mechanic has been destroyed? Currently, there are increasing complaints from players. Since the patch, the portal mechanic has not been functioning correctly. Players were supposed to be able to return to their base or the next city using the portals to sell or stash their items and then come back again.
However, while players are stashing or selling their items, the portals close behind them. This makes a return to the map impossible. This is particularly frustrating in the endgame, where players are trying to create high-quality maps to obtain good loot.
On Reddit, fans of the game are expressing their frustration. Reddit user Crithos writes: “I’ve lost my nexus, 8 damaged maps cannot be cleared now, and of course, all my loot is gone :/ […]”
On Reddit, user FullDefinition8177 has also noticed the problem. He went looking for clues and recorded a video showing the issue:
Player Gustavorad is also affected and writes on Reddit: “I’ve lost so much progress on the map because of this bug, a nexus at the highest level I had at the time. It set me back an entire level :/”
As of April 11, 11:30 AM, there have already been two hotfixes for the new patch of Path of Exile 2, which have addressed other issues in the game. It is still unclear when the developers will fix the problem.
Until then, players should avoid returning through a portal if they still want loot from the map, as a return is not guaranteed. Path of Exile 2 is set to leave Early Access as a full game in 2025.
