Fallout 76 received a new update with Patch 9.5. The only new feature in the patch is the new underground dungeon, the secret Arktos Pharma Lab.
What is this patch about? On the evening of May 21, 2019, the new Patch 9.5 for Fallout 76 was deployed. This brings a new feature as well as some bug fixes and a small improvement for the new player shops.
How big is the patch? For the various platforms, Patch 9.5 has a different size. However, it is larger this time on PC than on the consoles:
- The size for PC is just under 9GB
- The size for PS4 and Xbox One is about 5.5GB

New dungeon – Arktos Pharma Lab: The only new feature in Patch 9.5 is the Arktos Pharma Lab. Arktos Pharma is located in the woods, slightly southeast of Vault 76 and is easiest to reach from there.
Experiments were conducted on animals in the lab to test a drug that is supposed to relax and calm them. Apparently, it did not work quite as intended.
How to reach the lab: The upper part of the lab is relatively safe. Here, only a few low-level scorched and mole rats are waiting. The actual dungeon is accessed through the elevators in the entrance hall.
What is the task? Once you reach the bottom, you start the event “Project Paradise” or the quest of the same name if you haven’t completed it yet. For the quest, you need to conduct an experiment in the lab. The experiments have several stages.
Your mission is to feed and protect wildlife. You need to fill feeding troughs in three different biomes and then protect the tamed animals from wild animals that will attack them. In the end, there is a boss fight.
Who is the dungeon suitable for? The Arktos Pharma Lab is designed for players level 50 and above. The dungeon is not instanced, which was already a critique in the previous dungeon “The Caves”. This also means that every player in the dungeon belongs to your group, making the tasks easier.
What’s new in the shop: In line with the Arktos Pharma Lab, there is a new skin for the power armor and limited cosmetic items in the shop that fit the theme of the lab.
Improved feature – Vending machines: The new and long-awaited feature of player vending machines has also been slightly improved. You can now use the “Inspect” function to view details of the sold items.
This should help you make better decisions about which goods you really want to buy. This is likely to make the already very popular shop feature even more popular.
